About the NDIS

  • What’s the relationship between Kemp Allied Health and the NDIS?

Allied health providers (like us) deliver therapeutic supports to participants and are one of the largest groups of registered providers. We provide evidence, assessments and reports that inform access and planning decisions made by NDIA delegates (planners) under the NDIS Act.

We can also refer people to information about who can access the NDIS, provide supporting evidence as part of an access request, and provide copies of reports or assessments that describe the extent of the functional impact of the disability.

  • What types of therapy does NDIS funding cover?

In general, the NDIS funds reasonable and necessary supports that help a person living with a disability enjoy an ordinary life. As such, many of our services are covered by the NDIS, for eligible participants. This includes assistive technology, aids and mobility equipment (including set up and training) by our skilled allied health clinicians.

  • Does Kemp Allied Health work with all NDIS participants?

At the moment, we only support Plan-Managed and Self-Managed participants. We’re working towards supporting NDIA-Managed participants in the future and hope to have this service available soon.

About our services

  • Do you have an office or practice I can come to?

Not for our clients, but this is a good thing! For your convenience, we’re a 100% mobile healthcare service. That means we’ll always meet you where you are, saving you the need to travel. It also means you can receive optimal, personalised care in the comfort of your own home, workplace, aged care residence, or school. As such, you receive real-life, applicable strategies and treatments that we can practice together in your everyday environment.

  • Do I need a referral to come to you?

Not unless using Medicare. Then you need a copy of your Chronic Disease Management Plan by your GP.

  • What can I expect from a session with you?

Expect the best! We always provide professional, respectful, friendly, caring service that’s tailored to you. First, we sit down with you first and listen to your medical history goals, challenges, and strengths. Then, we’ll work with you to determine the best course of treatment through a bespoke treatment/rehabilitation plan.

Your personalised treatment will start as soon as you’re ready (usually immediately) and incorporate a blend of modalities depending on what you need. You might have a once-off session, or require multiple session with someone from our team. If you have a Carer, we’ll also show them how to best care for you on an ongoing basis.

  • Can my Carer or family member be present during my session?

Absolutely! There’s plenty of practical applications and helpful insights to go over in each treatment session, so we’d love to share the session with them as well. Just let your therapist know at time of initial contact.
