Our story.

It began with a simple idea.

Quality allied health services for all people regardless of age, condition, where a person lives or their funding stream.

Susan Morrison, the Principal Occupational Therapist of Kemp Allied Health, became an Occupational Therapist because of her beautiful Gran, Jeannie Kemp, who battled her long journey with Alzheimer's disease and Vascular dementia like a true warrior. Susan was able to meet her goal of remaining in her own home until the end, with the help of services, supports and equipment in place. Proving that residential-care is not the only option, despite what the medical model might say. Susan is passionate about ensuring people (like her Gran's) goals are achieved whatever they are.

Susan has worked as a Senior, Principal and Team Leader Occupational Therapist for multiple organisations, working across various different sectors acquiring an extensive portfolio of knowledge and experience. She has established the occupational therapy department from the ground-up on countless occasions, however found as the team of therapists dramatically grew, it was difficult to maintain the standard she desired. She was noticing a high level of employee burnout and taking of short-cuts to meet KPI expectations. The original reason as to why people become therapists to begin with, was becoming lost.

Susan envisioned consistent quality service by clinicians who are highly skilled, passionate, creative, ethical and do not cut corners. This is achieved by being selective in the employment process to hire people who best reflect the organisation's ethos, establishing realistic and achievable KPIs for all clinicians so people come first rather than focusing on billables, management who understand the expectations of each discipline and investing in employees to enable them to reach their goals and show their value within the team.

Susan felt it was time to make this vision a reality and who better to do this then herself. This is how Kemp Allied Health was born. With the name dedicated to the person who inspired her to become an Occupational Therapist to begin with - Jeannie Kemp.
